Video: Tiwa Save Counsels Uganda Students On Abortion, Teenage Pregnancy

Tiwa Savage to Uganda is one students in the country won’t forget in a hurry. Apart from giving the nation quality entertainment with her singing and dancing prowess, the multi-talented entertainer also educated high school pupils on teenage pregnancy, unsafe abortion and other relevant issues. In the words of Tiwa Savage, ‘Life is about planning ahead, so if you, as a young person do not plan for parenthood, you will always be dependent on other people and unable to break out of the cycle of poverty. It is not good to keep on being helpless; we have to take responsibility for our lives.’ According to Reach a Hand Uganda, the organisation behind the event, the use of role models like Tiwa to take the message to these young people has proved effective because when the students hear the people they look up to reaffirm the best Safe Reproductive Health practices, they are transformed.
